Whilst existing work processes at London based K2 Space are very much established and work on a day to day basis, it is clear that exploiting technology further is definitely a way to refine and enhance what is currently implemented. It is proposed that a combination of solutions, both a bespoke quotation and sales platform alongside a migration to QuickBooks Online could see a significant number of improvements. These would be primarily around quality of data collection, data sharing efficiencies and more effective tracking and management summary information of all product sales and projects.
Through the Empresa approach of in-depth analysis and design leading to solution development we found that the main objective would be overlaying the system on top of existing processes capturing data more accurately and avoiding any rekeying during data processing. The bespoke solution was moulded around how proven business processes already work, applying additional layers of technology where appropriate to further improve and refine how things already operate.
Another key component of our development approach is to encourage client involvement. We believe that the earlier a client’s team can see the system start to evolve, the more successful the final outcome will be. It is also a proven statistic that the earlier any changes to the development specification can be identified in the life cycle, the more effectively and efficiently they can be made.
This solution is developed using web technologies which will allow the final system to be accessed internally, externally and across a number of popular internet web browsers, not to mention on a wide range of mobile and desktop and portable based devices.
The starting point of the system is the “dashboard”, the home page to the new system. From the dashboard, the user will be presented with links to all the features of the system to which they have access. The dashboard once loaded will adapt to reflect what that user can see and do based upon their level of authorisation whether it be client, orders, accounting, or management sectors so giving the productivity and management benefits that K2 Space were looking for.
