The DNA system is a desktop based system that controls the creation, transportation and DNA profiles of samples handled by Key Forensic Services. The system is hosted in a Citrix cloud environment and used across 3 sites spread across the UK.
The system allows scientists to create samples, compare DNA profiles, automatically checking for cross and staff contamination before finally generating structured files that are sent to the National DNA Database. The system currently contains more than 8 million rows of data and is still growing!
