The team at Empresa were approached by the owner of Dereham Taxis to help create a bespoke software solution to suit the way he wanted to run his own taxi business and which could be used whilst either in or away from the office. He had already explored a number of alternatives, including a variety of popular off-the-shelf taxi product options, but decided that he wanted to team up with us to enable him to define precisely what he wanted now but also with a mind on his future ideas which could be integrated by us at a later date.
The brief was driven through a number of very productive brainstorming sessions and from these we were able to define what they needed now for their new "taxi booking system", as well as mindful of other ideas that had begun to develop during various discussions.
Following the launch of the booking system to desktop and mobile devices, a pilot activity was carried out, allowing the old system to run in parallel ensuring everything went smoothly. A complete migration of many years of data was then carried out and the new system became fully operational.
A recent change to the booking system was the integration with the NavMan Wireless system, enabling them to visually track the precise location of all of their cars and to then allow staff the benefit of this information to manage the bookings for each day.
